The Future of Fashion is sustainable, diverse and heavily technology orientated. As Generation Z start to take over, they are raising awareness about the above issues by blasting them on social media – which is huge at the moment, with the average person spending 2 and a half hours on it. So it is important that all fashion brands stay on top of the latest trending topics and adapt to these. This leads me onto speaking about diversity and technology, as ever since the downfall of the high street occurred, most people now shop online. ASOS recently introduced the Virtual Reality catwalk, which revolutionised fashion, much like the virtual version of a changing room.

The Future of Retail is definitely uncertain. It is an industry that is very uncertain especially in fashion. With Brexit always being around the corner, this could make the sourcing of fabrics from such exotic places very hard and expensive. Businesses will have to review how they buy their product and whether they have the funds to do so. In response to this, businesses need to be very adaptive and spontaneous, quickly catching onto new trends to move with the industry rather than fall off.

Style from my point of view means self expression. It is definitely not trend orientated, it’s timeless to each individual. It reflects who you are. Much like the House of Gharats, it tells a story of culture, art and even upbringing. Personally, I love to wear pieces that reflect my bold, outspoken personality and heritage. On average, it takes someone 10 seconds to form an impression on you, and I like to make every one count. Good or bad.

These superb scarfs collection defines the core values and beliefs of brand ‘House of Gharats’ and its owner Neishaa Gharat. The values are built around acute knowledge of fashion, culture and art which can be seen from the scarfs designs and it’s detailing. I would highly recommend everyone to possess the designer scarfs which are hand crafted and designed to keep the culture in mind.

    1. The future of fashion is care. To me what this means is:
    – a person-based design in which customization would be the differential factor
    – a sustainable design that would consider its impact on world’s resources
    – an ethical design that takes into account social differences and gender differences
    – a design which arises from cross fertilization: multicultural, innovative, original

    2. The future of retail is the direct experience: the shops will become more and more interactive and costumer orientated. Emotional design would be an effective alternative to online sales, although it will not be able to replace it.

    3. Style from my point of view means to be true to our character. To be calibrated to an image by accepting the change while mixing it with permanent codes.

    – Story-telling. Your designs are illustrative and beautifully display narrative.
    – Beautiful silks, ethically and sustainably sourced.
    – Intricate detail and spectacular colour palettes.

“The future of fashion our responsibility – we’re all going to have to think carefully about sustainably, ethical practices, and creating ‘comfortably enough’, but not too much.”

“The future of retail is is both challenging and exciting. Innovation will be essential – creative minds will find creative solutions and influence others within industry.”

“Style from my point view means expressing values and ideas via visual and artistic messages represented in eye-catching design both through the old and modern.”

My first impression was the burst of lively colors when I first opened the website. As I began reading and discovering your collections, I fell in love with the concept of The House of Gharats and what you stand for. I really appreciate timeless products that are not only just a product but come with a whole story, symbolism, and mean to empower and invoke consciousness. After watching the interview with Commonwealth Fashion Council I really enjoyed hearing about your world in depth. The project with making scarves out of the ocean is such a beautiful concept that really spoke to me and the fact that you’re intertwining heritage and modernity in such a mindful way really makes The House of Gharats stand out to me.

House of Gharats is a brand with integrity and hope.

House of Gharats values the celebration of cultures. I am amazed by the richness of their designs through the narrative. It evokes an honourable homage to the Indian heritage. The contemporary pieces are emotional and vibrantly expressive. The message of the brand resonates with my beliefs, as I also feel proud of my Nepali heritage which I tend to apply to my work principle.

Neishaa Gharat talks about how designing is a ‘superpower’. I find her words thought-provoking, making me realise that creativity is so important which makes me very hopeful for the future as a designer.

As a design house, they are conscious of the impact they are making in the fashion industry. Their sustainable approach to follow through slow fashion is a great practice.

The future of fashion is or at least should be ethical and sustainable for this planet. Fashion industry has a big impact on the environment and society but at the same time nowadays companies are aware of this and have the opportunity to change methods of production.

The future of retail is increasingly going to e-commerce however, we should be able to revert this situation. Nowadays, customer is a demanding person and has strong personal taste. Therefore, retailing should be a personal and unique experience for customer.

Style from my point of view means to accept yourself as you are. Have attitude and feel comfortable with your body. Then; find, discover, try outfits that make you feel confident and that define yourself.

The future of fashion is to be a promoter of culture, by creating synergies between different cultures joined by the same values of collaboration and innovation.

The future of retail is circular economy, collaborative comsumption and transparency between buyers and retailers.

Style from my point of view means self-expression. It means to give value to one’s own inner self through fashion.

The future of fashion is going back to slow fashion. I believe that in order to make it sustainable, we have to start using the best raw matter with the best techniques, so that the products become durable instead of disposable.

The future of retail is a mixture of technology and experience. Retail will never forgett about the important interaction there is between the costumer and the product. The future of retail is not online, because shopping on a screen makes it impossible to really appreciate the quality of the work. This is why the future of retail is in the experience that retail as a space and as a service gives to the costumer.

Style from my port of view is a visual way to express what we want to show to the world. It is a beautiful form of presenting the way we see ourselves to the eyes of everyone else. Style is a political statement, a form of communication and a hint to our esthetic.

    – That House of Gharats defies industry norms, by aiming to be fully ethical and sustainable by 2021, whilst maintaining a balance between luxury and consciousness. This is extremely important to me, as I have previous live-project experience working with Zara on a sustainability project that began my passion for ethical design. It excites me that I have the opportunity to work for a company that I can be truly proud of, and a company that is changing and challenging the industry.
    – Identifying that the love of giving a house of Gharats’ scarf as a gift should also extend to the consumer’s own personal relationship with self-love. The relationship House of Gharats encourages between consuming and love really stood out to me, and how consuming and mindfulness can work in harmony. House of Gharats is able to educate consumers, whilst sharing beautiful design, and I believe this is so significant in our modern-day world.
    – The attention to detail. The website invites you into a world of luxury and beauty, and the website, blog-posts, and high level of information all add to giving the customer the best and most attentive experience. Therefore, it really stood out to me how much House of Gharats cares about their consumers, and this customer-centric approach is clear to see on the website.
